The quality and elegance of Dominican cocoa speaks for itself. The Dominican Republic is the largest exporter of organic cocoa in the world and the country has been included in a group of 15 select countries recognized as producers of select gourmet cocoa.

Khao Caribe works with 100% organic cocoa in partnership with The National Confederation of Dominican Cacao Producers (CONACADO), which is responsible for exporting 50% of the national production of cocoa. Through this partnership, we can guarantee that our cocoa production is non-GMO and has been produced in a socially and environmentally sustainable way. Working with CONACADO allows us to achieve our vision of conserving natural resources and ensuring the economic health of our farming communities through authentic fair trade.

Our cocoa is 100% organic, fermented and dried to ensure better quality.

The Dominican Republic has a very unique geographic importance that has created a crossroads of commerce between Europe, North America and the rest of Latin America.  It’s location is the epicenter of the Caribbean and developed infrastructure of ports, roads and airports have solidified its status as the main hub of the Caribbean.  The Port of Punta Caucedo has a 922 meter dock and a depth of 13.5 meters; The Port of Haina Oriental has a 1,690 meter dock with a depth of 10 meters.  These two important ports have been the catalysts for expansion of commercial trade and tremendous growth of Dominican exports.

According to data from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Dominican exports have seen growth that far exceeds the rate of the majority of countries in the region.  As of the end of 2014 the IDB has projected a growth in exports exceeding 7% for fiscal year 2013, far exceeding the 3% average for all Central American countries for the same year.  The Dominican Republic now exports more than 3,800 products to more than 170 markets around the world.
